Through this Conference on mental health we shall be Addressing the ongoing abuse of drugs usage amongst youth in world and Sierra Leone as a case study; on the 10th October 2022, we hope to engage all stakeholders in the health sector, community and local government leadership on the harmful effect of drug abuses and users in Sierra Leone.
The training for drug youths who are drug abusers to engage in agribusiness & farming shall commence
during the course of the conference on Address the ongoing abuse of drugs usage amongst youth in Sierra
Leone on the 10th October 2022. We shall have a one-week training on farming and other entrepreneurship
skills with a graduation ceremony on the 16th October as this is in a bid to help convert drug users and abuses
into farmers and agribusiness men along with their appointment as Brand Ambassadors of Sustainable
Development & Health Education. This agribusiness and farm training shall commence in four strategic locations – one in each Provincial headquarter towns simultaneously.
This conference & training programme is an activity of the GRANETSON INITIATIVE PROJECT commonly known as the G.I. Project. This an initiative bore through partnership between the Association of Sierra Leone (ASIL) & Youth Association of Sierra Leone (YASIL) with the South African Government and its People through the South African High Commissioner H.E. Grace Jeanet Mason & South Africa High Commission to Sierra Leone.
The initiative which is a joint venture to support the Government and People of Sierra Leone in the Youth Sector, Tourism & Entertainment Sector, Education Sector and Health Sector through set engagements, activities, programmes that will serve the purpose of advancing the Agenda 2063 of the African Union as well as Agenda 2030 which is the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
This venture is mainly sponsored by the South African High Commission & H.E. the South African Commissioner Ms. Grace Jeanet Mason & partners in conformity to support the existing bilateral & multilateral relationship between the good people of South Africa and Sierra Leone. It is with high hopes and aspiration for the youths to be sustainably equipped in the targeted sectors in country in order to foster cohesive human capital development locally as well as globally.
The Association of Sierra Leone (ASIL) & Youth Association of Sierra Leone (YASIL) in collaboration with the
respective Ministries, Department and Agencies of the Government of Sierra Leone shall work in conformity with the South African High Commissioner H.E. Grace Jeanet Mason & South Africa High Commission to Sierra Leone, in successfully implementing this project for its continuity into the years to come.
This registration is open on 3rd August 2022 and will close on the 3rd September 2022. Selected applicants will be informed on 10th September 2022
